Here we are on a historic look at Iowa during May 2013. This snow storm left some school districts with a freak snow day on May 2nd.
I encountered a strange drive to Carroll on the next day. All the snow had melted away in Denison the day before and as I began my drive, I was not prepared for the amount of snow that was still left in Carroll. As I drove through West Side, I notice more snow and then past Arcadia even more. It was as if it was February instead of May! The Snow was piled at least a couple of feet on the side of the road and the fields were all white. In Carroll, snow was left piled high in the streets and the mountains in the parking lots were higher than we had seen them all year long. What an event for our kids to remember when they are old and gray. "Hey kids....did you know...."
